What Pokémon is
Pokémon is a long-running animated series based on the Pokémon games. The official Pokémon India website lists Pokémon Horizons: The Series and Pokémon Journeys: The Series as current animation series, along with older seasons such as Sun & Moon, XY, Black & White, Diamond and Pearl, and Ruby and Sapphire.
Because the franchise has run for decades, there is no single starting point in India. Different seasons have appeared on different channels, so the first question is always which season you want, not just whether Pokémon is available.
The Hindi dub story
According to Bulbapedia, an earlier Hindi dub was tied to Cartoon Network and Pogo. In 2014 Disney India took over the broadcast rights, and Hungama TV began airing a newly produced Hindi dub on 19 May 2014. The same source says Tamil, Telugu and Bengali dubs followed on Hungama and its sister channels. Bulbapedia is a fan-maintained wiki, so we treat these dates as reported, not as official statements.
More recently, Pokémon Horizons: The Series was announced for an Indian premiere on Hungama TV on 25 May 2024 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Reports say these dubs received their own opening and ending songs by Vishal-Sheykhar, sung by Armaan Malik and Shirley Setia, and that Horizons was the first main-series season to use localised Hindi Pokémon names.
Online, the official Pokémon India site links to dedicated YouTube channels in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali. In November 2023, JioCinema announced an exclusive Pokémon streaming deal in five languages, but the reports we read did not list the languages, so we cannot say Hindi is included today.
How to check availability yourself
Start with the official Pokémon India website and open its TV and film page. It links to the Hindi YouTube channel, which is the most direct official route we found.
For JioHotstar or Netflix, search for Pokémon, open the title you want and look at the audio and subtitles menu on the details page. Only trust a Hindi option if it appears there. A Hindi trailer or Hindi artwork does not prove the film itself has Hindi audio.
For television, check the current Hungama or Super Hungama schedule on your cable, DTH or the channel's own website, because programme slots change without notice. Unofficial uploads on video sites do exist, but they are not recommended and we do not link to them.
What to know before you start
Pokémon has well over a thousand episodes and many films, as the JioCinema announcement (over 1,000 episodes and about 21 movies) shows. You do not have to watch in order; each series generally introduces its own main characters, though we have not watched the Hindi dubs ourselves and cannot comment on their quality.
We also could not verify an age rating for India, so check the rating shown on the platform. Everything here reflects our check on 27 October 2026, and catalogues, schedules and languages can change at any time.
