The Vvaan (2026)

The Vvaan 2026: what the folklore fantasy is about

The Vvaan 2026 is a Hindi film built on village folklore and a forbidden forest. Per the makers' description carried by IANS, an urban man awakens a divine goddess in the woods near his ancestral village and has to deal with powers beyond his grasp, with a trishul and ritual settings part of the world. The makers pitch it as a family entertainer that blends adventure, mystery and humour, which is a notably lighter promise than the usual mythology-horror treatment of such material.

The story is credited to Arunabh Kumar and the film is directed by Deepak Mishra. We have not seen the film, so we can only describe what has been announced.

Cast, makers and the road to release

Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia lead, with Shweta Tiwari, Sunil Grover, Anup Soni and Maniesh Paul in supporting roles. Balaji Motion Pictures presents it in association with TVF and 11.11 Production, backed by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari. We could not verify character names, so none are listed.

The release date moved more than once. An earlier slot of 28 August 2026 was pushed back, and the makers confirmed 25 September 2026 for cinemas. Filmfare reportedly said the film was being reshot and re-edited with a changed direction team, but the production house did not confirm it. Treat that as an unconfirmed report.

Release date and where to watch The Vvaan

The Vvaan opened in cinemas on 25 September 2026. For streaming, Prime Video is reported to hold the digital rights, citing Filmibeat via Esquire India. No official OTT date was found; one outlet floated 5 November, while NewsBytes estimated mid to late November based on usual gaps. Neither is confirmed, so wait for an announcement from Prime Video or the makers.

It looks best suited to families and to viewers who like fantasy that leans on folk belief but keeps a light touch. If you prefer strict horror or grounded drama, the billing suggests it is not meant for you.

One thing to keep in mind when reading box-office or streaming chatter around the film: figures and dates circulate quickly and often conflict, so rely on the makers' own announcements and on the platform's page. As a reader's checklist, look for the official trailer, the cast announcements from Balaji Motion Pictures, and any Prime Video listing before making plans.
