Nayyi Navelli (2026)

Nayyi Navelli 2026: a bahu, a suspicion and a Meerut household

Nayyi Navelli 2026 is a Hindi film built on a familiar kind of domestic comedy with a supernatural twist. The reported set-up is a bride who appears flawless and who straightens out a disorderly joint family in Meerut. A younger relative, her brother-in-law, begins to wonder whether such perfection is natural or whether she is a daayan.

One outlet names the character Mohini and calls her the bahu of the Awasthi family. The mix of in-law dynamics and folk-horror suspicion is the angle that sets it apart from a straight family entertainer.

Who is making it

Yami Gautam Dhar leads. The announcement mentions an ensemble cast but, in the coverage we saw, names no one else, so we do not list further actors. Balaji Mohan is the director, the script is by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, and G. V. Prakash Kumar provides the music.

It is described as the first collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow, the banner led by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma. Colour Yellow is widely associated with small-town Hindi stories, and a Meerut backdrop fits that tradition.

Release date and where to watch

The Nayyi Navelli release date is 16 October 2026, timed for Dussehra, and it is a theatrical release. As of late October it should already be in cinemas, so this is the main place to watch.

Amazon MGM Studios is a backer, but we did not find any announced streaming date or platform. We also saw headlines about opening-day numbers and a mixed review, but they were not confirmed in the article text, so we do not use them.

What to expect, and who it suits

The label is fantasy, comedy and family, so expect a light tone with some spooky play instead of hard horror, though listings differ on how much of the film leans toward scares. It looks aimed at a festival-season family audience.

This page is a preview built from announcements. We have not watched it and offer no verdict on the performances.

One small practical note for anyone searching for the Nayyi Navelli cast: only the lead is firmly named in the coverage we found. Expect more names to appear once the production publishes a full credit list or the film's official pages are updated. The title plays on the Hindi phrase for a new bride, which is a fair summary of where the story starts, though how far it departs from that is not something we can describe.
