Indrajaal (2026)

Indrajaal 2026: a treasure hunt wrapped in myth

Indrajaal 2026 is a Hindi-language fantasy mystery thriller that its makers pitch as a treasure-hunt story rooted in Indian history and folklore. According to the press material, a treasure hidden during British rule comes back into play during a total solar eclipse, and the people hunting for it get drawn into a struggle shaped by a prophecy. Coverage also ties the story to Nilvanti, a mythological setting, which signals that the film wants to blend adventure with legend rather than play as a straight heist.

The word indrajaal itself means a web of illusion or magic, a fitting title for a story built around an eclipse, a hidden hoard and a prophecy.

We have not watched the film, so this is a pre-viewing overview from announcements and listings, with no plot spoilers.

Release date and where to watch

Multiple listings, including Digit and a Pinkvilla roundup of July 2026 Hindi releases, give 24 July 2026 as the cinema release date, with August Entertainment named in connection with the release. We did not find a confirmed postponement.

On streaming, the listings we checked said the film was not available on any OTT platform at the time, and no digital premiere date had been announced. So the honest answer to where to watch Indrajaal is that it was a theatrical release and no streaming home is confirmed yet; check the film's official channels for updates.

Cast and crew

Mahesh Nikam leads, with Shanaya Tripathi and Yashraj Dimbale named prominently. Press coverage also lists Kiran Mane, Kalpana Sarang, Darshana Rasal, Dheeraj Sharma, Satyam Chhetri and Rahul Kulkarni in supporting roles. Bollywood Hungama's cast page showed no data when we looked, so we rely on the press releases for names.

Jageshhwar Lalita Dhoble directs and also edits; according to a press release he previously made three Marathi features. Sucheta Ajay Nikam produces under Shivaratna Productions, Gaurav Chati composes the music, and the story comes from Namdeo Murkute. Several of these names have Marathi-cinema backgrounds, which is useful context for what kind of regional storytelling sensibility is being brought into a Hindi film.

What to expect

Expect a mythology-flavoured adventure aimed at viewers who enjoy treasure-hunt plots and fantasy atmospherics more than gritty realism. Whether the film manages to make its prophecy and eclipse hook feel fresh is the open question, and one we cannot answer without seeing it.
