Choran Nal Yarian (2025)

Choran Nal Yarian 2025: a Punjabi comedy of suspicion

Choran Nal Yarian 2025 is a Punjabi-language romantic comedy. The one confirmed story detail is its starting point: a young man suspects his brother-in-law of seeing someone else, and the investigation that follows creates a run of misunderstandings. The British Board of Film Classification, which listed the film for UK release, describes the tone as warm-hearted and says the affair theme is handled with restraint.

The title itself, which can be read as friendship with thieves or rogues, suggests a story about mischievous companions. We do not know how literally the film uses that idea, so we stay with what the listing supports: a comedy about family ties, doubt and what happens when a rumour is chased too hard.

Online information about this title is thin compared with big-studio releases, and we have kept this overview to the details we could confirm.

Cast, director and runtime

The BBFC credits Naseeb Randhawa as director and lists Arya Babbar, Gurpreet Bhangu and Prabh Grewal in the cast. Box Office Mojo also names Gurdial Singh Sidhu as a director and producer and adds Rup Khatkar among the cast, so credits differ between databases. We list only the names that the classification board confirms.

The BBFC gives the running time as about 116 minutes, close to two hours, which is a normal length for a Punjabi comedy-drama. Its content advice mentions mild bad language, references to an affair, a brief slap and some drinking, so it is not aimed at young children.

Release date and where to watch: what is and is not confirmed

The BBFC lists 22 January 2025 as the UK release date, while Box Office Mojo gives 17 January 2025 as the earliest release in the UK. Neither tells us the date or the platform for its main release in India, so we do not publish an official Indian release date here, and we have found no confirmed OTT platform.

If you want to watch it, the practical advice is to search the title on Punjabi-focused streaming services and on general platform guides, and to treat any site that claims a firm date without naming a source with caution.

Who might enjoy it

We have not watched the film, so there is no verdict on its jokes or performances. From the premise, it looks suited to viewers who like Punjabi family comedies, light romantic subplots and stories where a small suspicion snowballs. Fans of Arya Babbar's work may want to see him in a comic setting, though that is a casting note, not a promise.
