Chennai Love Story (2026)

Chennai Love Story 2026: what is confirmed about this Telugu romance

Chennai Love Story 2026 is a Telugu romantic drama with Kiran Abbavaram as Steven Shankar and Sri Gouri Priya as Nivi. Trigun appears as Ajay, and Devendra Patel is among the other listed names. The setting hinted by the title is Chennai, which makes the title a clue to the backdrop of the story.

The sources we read do not give a detailed plot, and we are not going to invent one. What we can say is that it is positioned as a love story rather than an action film, and that its pairing of Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya is the main selling point in the coverage. We have not watched it.

Release date and where to watch

Sources agree that the film opened in theatres on 24 July 2026. For streaming, reports say SonyLIV began carrying it from 21 August 2026 in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. That multi-language arrival is useful for Hindi-speaking viewers, who can look for a dubbed or subtitled option on the platform rather than waiting for a separate release. Older listings that still call the film upcoming are out of date.

One report mentions a worldwide gross of over fifty crore rupees. We saw this in a single place and have no way to check it, so we treat it as an unverified claim and do not rely on it. Runtime and censor certificate were not stated in the sources we read.

Crew, credit question and who it suits

Mani Sharma composes the music, Daniel Viswas handles cinematography and Santhosh Naidu edits. Production is credited to SKN and Sai Rajesh Neelam under Mass Movie Makers and Amrutha Productions. Most sources name Ravi Namburii as director; one outlet also credits Lucky Bezawada, which other sources do not repeat, so we list only Ravi Namburii and flag the discrepancy.

If you follow Kiran Abbavaram's films, or enjoy contemporary Telugu romances that rely on the leads rather than spectacle, this is a straightforward pick, particularly now that it is on streaming. Without having seen it we cannot assess the chemistry or the writing, and no reliable critical reviews were available to us.

If you plan to watch on SonyLIV, it is worth checking which language tracks and subtitles are offered in your region, since multi-language availability was reported but regional catalogues sometimes differ. Treat everything above as background and judge the film yourself.
