Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (2025)

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari 2025: what kind of film this is

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari 2025 is a Hindi romantic comedy from Dharma Productions, written and directed by Shashank Khaitan. The setup is a familiar one in mainstream Hindi cinema: two people with bruised egos agree to a pretend arrangement, and the audience waits to see whether the pretence turns into something sincere.

What gives the idea its flavour is the setting. According to the published plot summaries, the story unfolds around a wedding in Udaipur, which means crowds of relatives, songs, colour and plenty of chances for comic misunderstandings. This is the territory Khaitan is associated with as a filmmaker of wedding-season entertainers, so viewers who enjoy that style will know roughly what texture to expect.

We have not watched the film, so this page is an overview of the premise and the credits rather than a verdict on how well the jokes land.

Cast and crew

Varun Dhawan plays Sunny and Janhvi Kapoor plays Tulsi Kumari, the two leads whose rebound plan drives the story. Listings also name Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, Akshay Oberoi and Abhinav Sharma in supporting roles, and Prajakta Koli is reported to have a cameo.

Behind the camera, Shashank Khaitan is credited as both writer and director. Dharma Productions is the production house, and trade listings mention Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta among the producers. Roles beyond the two leads are not described in the sources we saw, so we do not attach character names to the rest of the cast.

Release date and where to watch

The film reached cinemas on 2 October 2025. Most listings put the running time at about two hours sixteen minutes.

For home viewing, multiple outlets reported that Netflix began streaming it on 27 November 2025, roughly eight weeks after the theatrical opening. One listing gives 28 November, so the 27th is the better-supported date. Streaming catalogues change, so check the Netflix India app for current availability in your region.

Who it suits

This is a light, family-friendly style of romance meant for a group viewing night, not a slow character study. If you enjoy rom-coms built on mismatched pairs, big-fat-wedding backdrops and a bit of music, the premise lines up with that taste. If you prefer grounded, realistic relationship stories, the heightened wedding setting may feel too stylised.

Reviews at release were described as mixed to positive in the reports we found, which is worth remembering: expect a crowd-pleaser tone, not a groundbreaker.
