Main Ladega (2024)

What to know about Main Ladega 2024

Main Ladega 2024 is a Hindi boxing drama directed by Gaurav Rana and produced by Akshay Bhagwanji and Pinakin Bhakta under the Kathakaar Films banner. The writing credit goes to Akash Pratap Singh, who also plays the lead, so the project is closely tied to one person's vision.

The publicly described premise is simple and emotional: a boxer who is trying to shield his mother from an abusive father. That sets up two fights at once, one in the ring and one at home. The supporting cast includes Vallari Viraj, Gandharv Dewan, Ashwath Bhatt and Jyoti Gauba.

Trailer coverage at the time of release described it as a story of family sacrifice and the fight for justice, though we are relying on press material for that framing.

Release date and where to watch

The film reached Indian cinemas on 26 April 2024. We did not find an announced OTT platform or streaming date in the sources we checked, so we are not naming one; availability for older small releases changes quickly, so it is worth searching the major streaming apps directly.

Ratings that appear online are mixed. One listing shows a Times of India score of 3 out of 5 and audience users on another site averaging lower, but those are other people's opinions, and we have not watched the film ourselves. This page is an overview, not a review.

Who it may appeal to

Boxing dramas tend to follow a familiar arc of training, setbacks and a decisive bout, so the interest usually lies in how convincingly the family story is woven into the sport. Here that family story is the engine, which may suit viewers who prefer emotional stakes over pure sports spectacle.

It is likely to attract fans of underdog stories, people who follow newer faces in Hindi cinema, and viewers looking for an independent-scale film rather than a star vehicle. Note that the subject of domestic abuse may be uncomfortable for some.

As with many smaller theatrical releases, the paper trail is thin after the first weeks: trailers, the cast list and a few ratings are easy to find, while streaming news is not. If you are deciding whether to seek it out, the credited names above, Kathakaar Films and the trailer coverage are the best ways to judge whether its tone suits you before you commit two hours.
