Synopsis
A warrior who does not believe in gods loses a childhood friend to a cruel sacrifice and turns his back on religion altogether. Telugu devotional drama Kannappa follows how love and loss slowly push this sceptic towards a faith of his own, drawing on the legend of Lord Shiva's famed hunter-devotee.
Kannappa 2025: a sceptic's road to devotion
Kannappa 2025 is a Telugu-language devotional action drama built on the legend of Kannappa, a hunter-warrior remembered in South Indian tradition as one of Lord Shiva's most devoted followers. The storytelling choice that sets this version apart, going by the published premise, is that its hero starts out as an atheist. After watching a childhood friend die in a cruel sacrifice, he rejects religion, and the film is about what eventually draws him back towards belief on his own terms.
That framing matters for viewers who know the legend only by name. Instead of opening with a saint, the story opens with a doubter, which gives the devotional material a human starting point. We have not watched the film, so we cannot say how well it handles that journey; this page is an overview of what is publicly known.
Cast, crew and release details
The film is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. According to TMDB, the screenplay is credited to Vishnu Manchu and the story to Gopalakrishna Paruchuri, with music by Stephen Devassy and cinematography by Sheldon Chau. Vishnu Manchu plays the title role, with Preity Mukhundhan as Nemali. The wider cast includes Akshay Kumar as Shiva, Prabhas as Rudra, Mohanlal as Kirata, Kajal Aggarwal as Parvathy, Mohan Babu as Mahadeva Shastri, R. Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam and Madhoo.
The production banners are 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment. TMDB lists a release date of 26 June 2025 and an original running time of 182 minutes; other listings give 27 June 2025 as the theatrical date, so regional dates may differ slightly. Trade-press reports also mention that the release was pushed back from an earlier April date, though we have not independently confirmed the reason.
Where to watch Kannappa free in Hindi
The original film is in Telugu, but the version available here is the Hindi release, Kannappa (Hindi). It is hosted on the YouTube channel AVAA Entertainment, where the upload is titled "Kannappa Hindi Full Movie 4k" and was published on 17 July 2026. The channel's own description names 24 Frames Factory and AVAA Entertainment as the banners.
The listed length of the upload is about 181 minutes, close to the 182-minute original running time, so any small difference is likely just rounding or a minor edit; we have not compared the two. The video plays only through YouTube's official embedded player on this page, and a link takes you to the channel. All rights belong to their respective owners, and we make no claims about the uploader's licensing beyond what YouTube shows. Availability can change at any time if the uploader edits or removes the video.
What to expect and who it suits
Expect a long, spectacle-minded film that mixes fantasy, history and devotion, with a large ensemble of well-known South Indian and Hindi-film names. At roughly three hours it asks for patience, and the genre leans on faith, sacrifice and emotion rather than realism.
Critical reception was reportedly mixed on release, according to Wikipedia, so treat this as an overview rather than a recommendation. If the legend of Kannappa or a devotional epic is what you are looking for, it is a natural pick; if you prefer tightly paced, grounded stories, you may find it slower.
