Synopsis
A Hindi spiritual biographical drama about the early life of the saint Neem Karoli Baba. As described in listings, a young boy named Lakshman Das leaves home after losing his mother, searches for God across India, and gradually becomes the revered figure known to devotees as a follower of Hanuman.
Hanuman Ansh 2026: what the film is about
Hanuman Ansh 2026 is a Hindi-language devotional drama written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi. It follows the early years of Neem Karoli Baba, the saint whose ashram at Kainchi Dham draws visitors from India and abroad. Listings describe a boy called Lakshman Das who leaves home after his mother's death, travels the country in search of God, and slowly grows into the spiritual figure devotees know today.
The film has been presented as the first part of a planned trilogy, according to trade press, with the story drawn from the director's own book. We have not watched it, so this is an orientation guide, not a verdict. A reminder is useful here: religious biographies often blend documented episodes with devotional tradition, and a film can only choose one way of telling them.
Cast, makers and release details
Reports name Shobhina W Satyaa and Chandan Anand among the leads, with Purnima Tiwari, Vihaan Shedge, Anil Rastogi and Gulshan Pandey also listed. Sources are not fully consistent on spellings and exact role assignments, so we are not attaching character names. SWAMBhu Media Networks is named as the production banner, with Vishal Bawa as cinematographer and Shankh Rajyadhyaksha as editor.
Release information has shifted over time. An earlier date of 31 July was listed on some databases, and trade announcements later gave 7 August 2026 for the Indian theatrical release, which is the date we have used. Press reports also say overseas distribution was announced through Hombale Overseas with a worldwide date of 11 September, and a Telugu version was scheduled for October. Streaming details were not confirmed in what we found, so we do not name a platform.
Who it may suit
This is aimed first at viewers with an existing interest in Neem Karoli Baba or in Hanuman devotion, and at families who like spiritual stories told simply. A film about a saint's formative years lives or dies on restraint: whether it lets quiet scenes of travel, hardship and service carry the weight rather than leaning on grand claims.
If you want a fast, plot-heavy drama, the premise as described suggests a slower, reflective rhythm. If you come curious rather than devout, it is worth going in knowing that the film frames its subject with reverence. Check local cinema listings or your preferred streaming app for current availability, since the rollout across languages and countries was staggered.
