Synopsis
A powerful young politician becomes fixated on a Bollywood star who has no romantic interest in him, and his pursuit grows increasingly dangerous. Milap Zaveri's Hindi romantic drama stars Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa and opened at Diwali 2025.
What Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat 2025 is about
Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat 2025 is a Hindi romantic drama about obsessive love. As summarised on Wikipedia, a powerful young politician, Vikramaditya Bhonsle, fixates on a film actress, Adaa Randhawa, who does not return his feelings, and his pursuit turns steadily more dangerous.
The title can be read as 'the obsession of one madly devoted man', and the premise promises exactly that tension: devotion on one side, discomfort and fear on the other. The film was first announced on 14 February 2025 under the working title Deewaniyat, and the makers changed it to the current name in May 2025, according to a trade report.
Milap Zaveri, Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa
Milap Zaveri directed the film and co-wrote it with Mushtaq Shiekh. Harshvardhan Rane plays Vikramaditya and Sonam Bajwa, known for her Punjabi and Hindi film work, plays Adaa.
Supporting players include Shaad Randhawa as Sawant, Sachin Khedekar as Vikram's father, Ananth Narayan Mahadevan as Adaa's father and Rajesh Khera. Desi Movies Factory, led by producers Anshul Garg and Dinesh Jain, backed the project and Avanika Films handled distribution.
Release date, runtime and OTT platform
The film arrived in cinemas on 21 October 2025, timed to Diwali, after an earlier plan to open on 2 October. Wikipedia lists 141 minutes, while the ZEE5 and trade coverage we saw quote about 2 hours 19 minutes, so the exact running time is not settled across sources.
On streaming, ZEE5 announced a digital premiere from 26 December 2025, per its own blog and trade reports. One listing named Netflix instead, but the platform's own blog supports ZEE5, so that is the one we cite. Certification was not given in the sources we checked, so confirm age suitability yourself before watching with family.
Before you watch: tone and expectations
Stories about obsession can swing between swooning melodrama and genuine unease. The synopsis suggests the film treats the pursuit as increasingly dangerous rather than purely romantic, but how it balances love-story sweetness against threat is something we cannot judge without having seen it.
The soundtrack was released on 21 October 2025 with a score by John Stewart Eduri and songs from several composers, including Kaushik-Guddu and Kunaal Vermaa, which hints at a music-forward romance. Viewers who enjoy emotional, high-volume Hindi love stories are the natural audience; those wary of stalking themes may want to read more before choosing.
