Dama Dum Mast Kalandar (2026)

Dama Dum Mast Kalandar 2026: the premise

Dama Dum Mast Kalandar 2026 is a Punjabi-language comedy-drama directed by Sukhvir Singh. The press release distributed around its trailer describes two friends struggling and scheming their way through life abroad as non-resident Indians, with ordinary situations growing into comic muddles. It adds that the story deals with friendship and ambition, and with the thought that the security people chase overseas may eventually pull them back home.

That is the confirmed premise, and it comes from a promotional note that a news site carried as received, so it is the makers' framing. One data site listed the film as an action drama about a liquor mafia, which does not match the other coverage; we treat the comedy-drama description as the better supported one. We have not watched the film.

Cast and makers

King B Chouhan is billed as Kalandar and Malvi Malhotra as Jasmine. The supporting list includes Anita Devgan, Rupinder Rupi, Mintu Kapa, Sukhdev Barnala, Manpreet Singh, Pritish Narula, Sammy Gill and Pahulpreet Singh, per the press release. Several of these names are familiar from Punjabi comedy and television, which fits the genre the film is aiming at, though we cannot comment on their performances here.

Starmoon Film Productions made the film in association with Chakora Productions. The coverage we found did not name a writer, a composer or a running time, so we do not include them rather than guess. IMDb Pro lists the India release as 22 May 2026, matching the trailer announcement.

Release, where to watch and who it suits

The film was announced for theatres on 22 May 2026. We did not find a confirmed OTT platform or streaming date, so we cannot say where it will be available after the cinema run; the safest approach is to watch for announcements from the producers or Punjabi OTT services.

The NRI-in-trouble comedy is a well-worn corner of Punjabi cinema, and audiences usually judge such films on whether the jokes feel fresh and whether the homesick, emotional turn at the end feels earned. Viewers who like light, situational humour and a touch of sentiment about home should find the premise inviting. If you prefer plot-driven thrillers, it is likely to feel gentler than what you want. Early box-office figures from one tracker were small, but that site's data is approximate, so we place no weight on it.

The title borrows a well-known phrase from South Asian popular music and Sufi tradition, which signals a playful, festive tone, although how the film uses it is not described in the coverage we saw.
