Synopsis

A street-smart young orphan with a gift for pickpocketing is pulled into a mythic struggle over sacred relics tied to an ancient emperor. With a ruthless villain hunting those relics, he must rise to the occasion. Mirai is a Telugu fantasy action-adventure from 2025.

Mirai 2025: a pickpocket, a relic hunt and a villain with a black sword

Mirai 2025 is a Telugu fantasy action-adventure written and directed by Karthik Gattamneni, who also served as its cinematographer. Teja Sajja plays Vedha Prajapati, an orphan who survives on quick hands and quicker wits, and who is drawn into a conflict over relics linked to an ancient emperor.

The antagonist, Mahabir Lama, goes by the name Black Sword and is played by Manchu Manoj. Beyond that outline there is a lot of mythology we are deliberately not unpacking, because discovering how the pieces connect is part of what a film like this offers.

Supporting cast, producers and music

Composer Gowra Hari, who previously worked on Hanu-Man (2024), scores the film. Jagapathi Babu, Jayaram, Shriya Saran and Ritika Nayak fill the supporting roles, with Prabhas credited as the narrator. A cameo by Rana Daggubati as Gold Devil is also reported by one source.

The film is produced by T. G. Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad of People Media Factory. The soundtrack is short, around thirteen minutes across six tracks, with the singles Vibe Undi and Jaithraya released ahead of the film.

Release date, runtime and Mirai OTT release

Mirai opened worldwide in cinemas on 12 September 2025 and runs about 169 minutes, with a UA certificate per a source cited on Wikipedia. Wikipedia and trade outlets describe it as a box-office success, though we do not repeat revenue figures here.

On OTT, JioHotstar began streaming the Telugu version and dubbed Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam versions on 10 October 2025. Wikipedia says the Hindi version followed on 7 November 2025, though an earlier report suggested a longer wait for Hindi, so check the platform's language options in your region.

Who will enjoy this myth-driven adventure

Mirai belongs to the recent wave of Indian fantasy films that blend mythology with modern visual effects. The premise suggests a coming-of-age spine, an underdog hero who has to grow into a role bigger than himself, wrapped in a quest structure.

It should suit viewers who enjoy treasure-hunt and relic-quest stories at an epic scale. As with every preview on this site, we have not watched the film, so we cannot rate its effects, pacing or performances; this page is meant to help you decide whether to look for it.

A practical note for streaming: language availability on OTT often differs by region and changes over time, so if you want the Hindi or a South Indian dub, confirm it on the JioHotstar page before you press play. The 169-minute length also makes it a film to start early in the evening rather than late at night.

Who will enjoy Mirai?

  • Viewers who enjoy mythology-flavoured fantasy adventures
  • Fans of quest and relic-hunt adventures at epic scale
  • Teja Sajja followers curious about his next big-screen role
