Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (2021): what the film is
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (2021) is a Japanese animated dark-fantasy action film made by Studio MAPPA, with Sunghoo Park directing and Hiroshi Seko credited with the screenplay. TMDB lists a running time of 105 minutes and a Japanese release date of 24 December 2021. It is drawn from the manga prequel by Gege Akutami, and it sits before the events of the TV series rather than after them.
The premise is simple to state. Yuta Okkotsu is an anxious teenager whose childhood friend Rika has become a curse that refuses to leave his side. A teacher called Satoru Gojo takes an interest and urges Yuta to join Jujutsu High, a school where young sorcerers train to deal with cursed spirits. The film's tagline on TMDB, "Love is a twisted curse", hints at the emotional centre, but we will not go further than that here.
Is there a Hindi dub?
Checked on 27 October 2026. A Sony YAY! press release, as carried by MediaNews4U, announced the first Indian television broadcast of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 for Wednesday 5 November (2025) at 9:00 PM, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. So a Hindi-language version of the film has been confirmed as a TV broadcast on that channel. We did not find a source confirming a Hindi audio track for the film on any streaming service, and we did not find a confirmed 2026 repeat date.
What else is confirmed: according to Sportskeeda, the film reached Indian cinemas on 30 June 2022 with English subtitles, and Amazon Prime Video India and Crunchyroll later added it, with Crunchyroll listing both subtitled and English-dubbed versions. Availability changes often, so open the platform or check the Sony YAY! schedule before planning an evening around it. We do not recommend unofficial uploads or download sites.
Starting here if you are new
Because the film is a prequel, there are two sensible routes. You can watch it first, since it introduces its own central character and follows a self-contained story built around Yuta. Or you can start with the TV series and come back to the film for the earlier chapter. Which order suits you is a matter of taste; we have not watched either, so we cannot say one gives a better experience.
The series is also separate from this film in India: Crunchyroll and Sony YAY! have Hindi dubs of the TV episodes, which is a different question from the film's own language options. Expect a mature, violent fantasy world, so it is aimed at older teens and adults.
Voice cast and what to watch for
According to TMDB, the Japanese voice cast includes Megumi Ogata as Yuta Okkotsu, Kana Hanazawa as Rika Orimoto, Yuichi Nakamura as Satoru Gojo and Takahiro Sakurai as Suguru Geto. Mikako Komatsu, Koki Uchiyama and Tomokazu Seki voice Maki Zen'in, Toge Inumaki and Panda. Music is credited to Alisa Okehazama, Hiroaki Tsutsumi and Yoshimasa Terui.
If you try it, the natural things to look for are how the film handles its central friendship-turned-curse idea and how a studio known for action animation stages the sorcery fights. Treat that as a viewing guide, not a verdict; this is a preview written from published facts.
Who will enjoy Jujutsu Kaisen 0?
