Synopsis
A Malayalam supernatural horror-thriller directed by Abhilash Warrier. Public listings give the genre but almost no plot detail, so what is known is the mood: a chiller built around a supernatural presence, with Vysakh Ravi and Neha Chawla among the leads.
What Aroopi 2026 is and what we actually know
Aroopi 2026 is a Malayalam supernatural horror-thriller. It is a title where the honest summary is also the short one: the genre, the cast, the director and the runtime are published, but the story itself is not described in any listing we could verify. We will not invent a plot, and we would rather say so than pad this page.
The word in the title can be read in Indian languages as something formless or without a visible shape, which would fit a ghost story, but no source ties the title to the film's content, so take that as a reading of the word and not as a statement about the plot.
What can be said is that supernatural thrillers in Malayalam cinema tend to lean on atmosphere, folklore and slow reveals more than constant jump scares, though this film may or may not follow that pattern.
Release date, certificate and streaming status
The listed theatrical release date is 3 July 2026. One database still labels the film upcoming, which looks like stale wording, but the date matches across the pages we saw. The film is listed with a UA certificate and a runtime of about 115 minutes, which is fairly compact for the genre.
On where to watch, the OTT platform and streaming date are marked as to be announced. Some availability-guide sites mention possible platforms, but those pages themselves say availability is not confirmed, so we do not name any. The practical advice is to check your streaming apps after the usual post-theatrical window and follow the producers' official channels for an announcement.
A UA certificate generally means parental guidance for younger children, so families may want to preview the content before a group viewing.
Cast, crew and who should consider it
Abhilash Warrier directed Aroopi and is credited with its story and screenplay. Vysakh Ravi and Neha Chawla lead the cast, with Sakshi Badala, Joy Mathew, Sindhu Varma, Kannan Sagar and Mathews Raju listed in key supporting roles. Character names were not available.
Pradeep Raj produced it under Punartham Productions. Gopi Sundar is listed as composer, Aman as cinematographer and V. T. Vineeth as editor. In a horror film, sound design and music carry a lot of the effect, so the composer credit is worth noting, though we cannot judge the score without hearing it.
This suits viewers who enjoy Malayalam horror and do not mind going in with little plot information. If you prefer to know the story first, wait for audience responses and detailed reviews, which we have not relied on here.
