Synopsis
A woman dies during a wedding celebration in Punjab, and what first looks like a tragic accident turns into a murder inquiry with a crowd of possible suspects. One listing says she was visiting from London and fell from a balcony. Top Cop is a Punjabi mystery thriller; most other production details are not yet confirmed.
Top Cop 2026: what is actually known
Top Cop 2026 is a Punjabi-language mystery thriller, and information about it is thin. We found two public listings with useful detail. District describes the story as a woman's death at a wedding in Punjab that sets off an investigation with several suspects, and credits Gurlove Singh Ratol as director. TrendingPunjabi adds a little more: the woman is described as London-based, she falls from a balcony during the wedding, she is declared dead on arrival, and the case then involves a long list of suspects, put at twenty.
That is the confirmed core. We have not seen the film, no full cast-with-roles list reached us, and neither listing gave a writer, producer, runtime or an exact release date. So this page is deliberately short on claims and long on context you can use while you wait for official information.
The whodunit angle: a wedding as a crime scene
A wedding is a smart place to hide a murder mystery. The guest list is large, everyone has a reason to be near everyone else, and old family grievances sit comfortably next to celebration. A closed circle of relatives and friends gives a detective story exactly what it needs: many people who could plausibly have been present, and very few who are willing to speak plainly.
The suspect count mentioned in one listing suggests the film leans on that crowded-room structure, in the manner of ensemble whodunits where each interview shifts the picture. Whether Top Cop treats the investigation as sober procedure or as something lighter, we cannot say. The title points to a police figure at the centre, but no source we saw names the character or explains how the investigator relates to the family.
Cast, crew and what we could not verify
The District listing names Gurpreet Ghuggi, Biney Jaura and Gunveen Manchanda among the people associated with the film, and credits Gurlove Singh Ratol as director. It also carries an age rating shown on that platform; since we cannot confirm it is an official CBFC certificate, we have not reproduced it as one.
Not confirmed from any source we saw: who plays which role, the writer and producer, the running time, the exact theatrical or digital release date, and any trailer details beyond the fact that a trailer exists. We would rather leave these blank than guess.
Top Cop release date and where to watch
No exact release date is confirmed in the sources we saw: District still shows the film as coming soon, while TrendingPunjabi gives only the year 2026. That page also says the film is streaming in India through the Chaupal channel on Amazon, citing JustWatch data via TMDB as checked on 19 October 2026. Those two statements do not line up neatly, so treat the streaming availability as reported rather than settled and confirm inside the Chaupal channel on Prime Video before planning around it.
One practical warning: the name is easy to confuse with an unrelated 2010 Hollywood comedy that was marketed in some countries as Top Cops. Search with Punjabi and the cast names above to land on the right title.
