Dacoit (2026)

Dacoit 2026: a long road to release

Dacoit 2026, titled Dacoit: A Love Story in reference listings, is a Telugu-Hindi romantic action drama directed by Shaneil Deo in his directorial debut. Adivi Sesh co-wrote the story and screenplay with Deo and stars as Hari, with Mrunal Thakur as Saraswati, nicknamed Juliet. The film was shot in Telugu and Hindi simultaneously.

Its schedule changed more than once. It was first announced for 25 December 2025; reporting, citing Deadline via IANS, linked the postponement to an on-set injury to Sesh during an action scene. It then moved to 19 March 2026 and later to 10 April 2026 to avoid clashing with other big releases. One outlet gave a different March date, so early date reports were inconsistent.

Where to watch

The film's reference listing records a theatrical release on 10 April 2026 and an Amazon Prime Video streaming debut on 8 May 2026, with Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada dubs alongside Telugu. We found this on a single reference page, so treat the streaming details as likely but worth confirming on Prime Video. A box-office total appears on that page too, but we could not corroborate it and have not repeated it.

Cast and crew

Anurag Kashyap plays CI Rambabu, the police officer on the hero's trail, and Prakash Raj appears as Solomon Reddy. Sunil and Atul Kulkarni are also listed. Supriya Yarlagadda and Suniel Narang produce, with Annapurna Studios presenting. Dialogues are credited to Abburi Ravi for Telugu and Yash Eshwari for Hindi. We have not watched Dacoit and say nothing about how it plays.

Who it suits

Viewers who like revenge thrillers with a love story at the centre, and followers of Adivi Sesh's genre films, are the likely audience.

For viewers deciding how to watch, the dual-language shoot matters: Telugu and Hindi dialogue writers are credited separately, so the Hindi version is not simply a dubbed track. The genre tags on the reference page mix romance, action, neo-noir and heist elements, which suggests a hybrid tone. One fan page we came across claimed awards and acclaim; we found no mainstream source for that, so we have ignored it and make no claims about reception.

In short, the confirmed picture is a debut director, a lead who co-wrote the story, a seasoned supporting cast and a release that finally landed in April 2026 after delays. Everything beyond that, including tone and quality, is for viewers to judge for themselves.
