What “Hindi dubbed” means for a South Indian film

A Hindi-dubbed release is a film made in another language, most often Telugu or Tamil, whose dialogue has been re-recorded in Hindi. Distributors frequently give these releases a new title for Hindi viewers, so the name you see on YouTube is often not the name the film carries in its original language.

The five films on this page show how common that is. Aegan, a 2008 Tamil action film, circulates in Hindi as Jaanbaaz Commando. Azhagiya Tamil Magan, a 2007 Tamil film with music by A. R. Rahman, appears as International Sabse Bada Khiladi. The 2024 Telugu film The Family Star is uploaded as The Real Hero. If a search for one name finds nothing useful, try the other: each of our film pages mentions both.

Why the running times differ

In every example above, the YouTube upload runs shorter than the original running time listed by TMDB. Aegan is listed at 135 minutes but the upload runs 110. Azhagiya Tamil Magan is listed at 171 minutes against 128 on YouTube. Shivam is 148 against 139, The Family Star 155 against 153 and Kannappa 182 against 181.

We have not watched these uploads, so we cannot say what was removed or why, and the gap can have several ordinary explanations, such as songs, credits or interval cards. If the complete original cut matters to you, compare running times before relying on a dubbed upload.

How to check that an upload is the right film

Start with the credits. A trustworthy upload usually lists the director and the main cast in the description; compare them with the film’s page on TMDB, where you can also see the original title and year. Next look at the channel: is it the production company, a known film label, or a channel with only a handful of videos? Finally compare the running time and the upload date with what you expect.

Be cautious with titles that only repeat words such as full movie, HD or 4K without naming any cast or crew. Those are often not the film they claim to be.

How MovieTime lists free movies

We do not host or copy any video. When you press play, the video loads from YouTube through YouTube’s official embedded player, and nothing is requested from YouTube before that. Every film page carries our own introduction, written from public information, and a note that we have not watched the film.

Rights belong to their owners, and we cannot guarantee how a third-party upload is licensed or how long it will stay online. If you are a rights holder and want a page changed or removed, write to us at the contact address on our contact page.

FAQ

What does Hindi dubbed mean?

It means the film was originally made in another language and its dialogue has been re-recorded in Hindi. The pictures and songs usually stay the same, but the running time and even the title can differ from the original.

Are Aegan and Jaanbaaz Commando the same film?

Based on the matching director, lead cast and plot description, yes: Jaanbaaz Commando is the Hindi-dubbed release of the 2008 Tamil film Aegan. We match them from public credits, not by watching the upload.

Why is the dubbed version shorter than the original?

In the five films listed here the YouTube version is shorter than the original running time on TMDB. We do not know the reason for each film, so check the running time yourself if the full cut matters.

Can I be sure these uploads are legal?

No. We link only to videos available publicly on YouTube and play them through YouTube’s official embed, but we cannot verify each uploader’s licence. Availability can change at any time.
